Hack Into This

Have you ever wanted to have complete control over a city with just the use of a smart phone? You could’ve done that with “Watch Dogs” but now you can do it again better with its sequel “Watch Dogs 2”. While the first installment might’ve been a huge disappointment to what was promised compared to what we got, the second installment could possibly improve and implement things that the first game was lacking.

It basically has the same premise of the first game but includes some changes. One major change to the series could be the setting being changed from Chicago to San Francisco. The player plays as Marcus Holloway, a hacker who works with the hacking group DedSec to take down the city’s ctOS 2.0, an advanced surveillance system. After he was framed for a crime he didn’t commit by the ctOS system, which categorized him as the suspect.

Gameplay wise it’s similar to its predecessor as it’s played from a third-person point of view and features an open world setting in a fictionalization of San Francisco. Marcus like Aidan(protagonist of first game) also has improved acrobatic skills, and has the ability to parkour around the city. Players can use different methods to approach the game’s missions. They can choose between the aggressive approach, in which they kill enemies with guns, explosives like mines, or Marcus’s own melee weapon, the thunderball, a billiard ball attached to a bungee cord. Alternatively, players can use the stealth approach, in which they can evade enemies or paralyze them temporarily with Marcus’s taser. The players can also complete the game through hacking alone. The player can hack into various electronic devices connected to the ctOS system with his in-game smartphone. But when players commit too many crimes in the open world, police officers will become alerted and will attempt to arrest the player.

The game is set release on November 15, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and November 29, 2016 for PC.
