Fortnite vs. Quality

Jonx Galang, Staff Writer

With the explosive popularity of games today millions of people online are jumping onto games like Destiny 2, Fifa 18, Overwatch, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. But a game among those has had a recent jump of popularity, PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds). It’s rated T for Teen. With every new and popular game there are bound to be a few games who piggyback on the same idea for free. For PUBG that’s Fortnite.

Fortnite is a free to play co-op battle royale game with subpar gameplay and graphics the game is usually seen as a free version of PUBG and I would have to agree. It’s also rated T or Teen. The game has become exponentially popular with it being free, including co-op, and having similar gameplay to PUBG. This game is made for those who want to experience PUBG without having to pay the $40 premium for a quality game, or for those who want to follow the trend.

Fortnite should not be as popular as it is. There are many other amazing options for playing video games such as the previous listed games. Games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and PUBG have much more quality built into it than Fortnite.

PUBG is the main game Fortnite is based on. PUBG is built with much more performance, graphics, gameplay, and realism in mind while Fortnite just hold the main trait of being free, if you are willing to join the community of PUBG it will run you down around $30 for both PC and Xbox. CSGO is a competitive first person shooter with a thriving community including mod creators, skin creators, pro players and tournaments, and hundreds of thousands of players. If you  are interested and want to become one of the best this game will cost $15 on PC. Overwatch is a casual and competitive first person shooter with a thriving cast of 26 playable characters and growing every season. This game is always evolving and is constantly getting updated by their developers, and now including a pro Overwatch league for the top players in the world this game will cost $40 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
