How To Become YouTube Famous from an Unfamous Youtuber
November 17, 2016
I am not Youtube famous nor am I social media famous. I’ve attempted becoming YouTube famous four times . Such as the time that I did a Q & A video based off of questions popular youtubers were being asked. Or perhaps the time I made an art tutorial and time lapsed some of my pieces. Throughout this experience I’ve learned a thing or two (actually way more) about how to become famous. From my experience, I have created a list of the top five must do’s to become YouTube famous.
On my first attempt, I automatically felt like, “Yeah I’m going to be famous.” My first mistake was not coming up with a theme. Every Youtube channel you create must have a theme. For example, a good youtube theme would be gaming (like PewdiePie), makeup tutorials (like Patrick Starr), or even just talking about life and doing Q and A’s (like Mazzi Maz). Creating a theme attracts fans that are interested in that specific theme to come and watch, soon becoming your fans.
Another mistake I made on my first attempt was the fact that I was too nervous to promote my channel on my other social media accounts. Even if you don’t have a lot of social media followers this step is vital. GO! Go and promote your channel to your friends, your teachers, and even your family (if you’re comfortable presenting that content to your family). The Youtubers you see now, the ones that get paid for making videos, all have their cringe-worthy first video and they promoted that video and many after that one.
Like I said before, creating a theme is a must. Along with doing that make sure you are creating videos based off of topics that are popular or even unique. This means that your title is basically something someone would put in the search box. For example, about four months ago a popular topic was “100 coats of nail polish, foundation, or liquid lipstick.” Makeup channels, comedy channels, and dare me channels all attempted this weird concept. Yet at the same time gained enormous amounts of views. The weirder or more unique your substance is, the better chance you’ll get plenty of followers.
Previously I mentioned promoting your channel to your family, friends, etc. Along with doing that you need to make sure that the “product” (your videos) you are advertising is something a person would even consider watching. This includes your channel page design and the quality of your videos. It’s okay to make mistakes on editing your videos and be proud of the mistakes too. If you are having trouble with how bad your footage looks then find cinematographers (people that love taking videos). Some YouTubers have a team. You’ll need a team if you realize you are bad at editing or shooting footage especially if you don’t feel like learning how to.
Last but definitely not least, don’t be discouraged by your first Youtube video. I may have hinted at this previously because this is a big deal. Insecurities will or may cause you to stop dead in your tracks and stop you from driving for success. Unfortunately, I did this during all of my four attempts at becoming YouTube famous. My first video was terribly edited, but lately, I’ve been doing side activities which have helped me become a better editor. For you, there may be a chance where your first video is a success. Yet, there is something about that youtube glo up that attracts subscribers. Make mistakes and learn from them, it’ll pay off at the end of the day.
