Kimye Vs. T-Swizzle

The feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift has lasted for seven years. The person to blame is, unsurprisingly, Kanye West. It’s not surprising because he has caused drama before due to his inflated ego. But I truly feel that his feud with Taylor is the lowest of his career as not only a musician/celebrity, but also as a person.

In 2009, Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. Taylor won the VMAs award for Best Female Video, but Kanye disagreed. Kanye rudely walked on stage while Taylor tells us how grateful she is for being able to receive her award.

“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” Kanye shouted loudly into a microphone he took from Taylor before walking away.

Needless to say Taylor, as well as the audience, was shocked. To make it worse, her time to say her speech was up when the microphone was handed back to her.

It is understandable that he felt that Taylor Swift didn’t deserve the award, after all everyone is entitled their own opinion, but that doesn’t justify his sudden outburst. He had nearly single-handedly ruined Taylor’s night.

A year later Kanye suddenly decided that it’s time to apologize. Although his apology was long overdue, Taylor humbly accepted. They decide to make up and become friends. They hit off and Taylor even becomes acquaintances with Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian. Another proof of their new found friendship is a post on Instagram of Taylor standing next to a large amount of white flowers sent by Kanye. They soon become friends and live happily ever after. At least that’s what you would think right? Wrong. And guess who ruins their new friendship? Kanye West.

In his new hit album,” The Life of Pablo”, Kanye West includes a song called “Famous” which contains very explicit lyrics about Taylor. That arent’t appropriate for the newspaper, basically calling her a female dog, ect. Taylor was not happy.

Taylor makes a reference to this during her Grammy award acceptance speech.

“I want to say to the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she said during her speech.

This is clearly a response to Kanye’s song. The speech causes outrage from another controversial figure, his wife Kim Kardashian. It’s funny that she’d think Taylor is a bad person for doing that, when her husband’s interruption during Taylor’s acceptance speech was worse by two-fold.

Out of nowhere this summer, Kim Kardashian decides to take out a recording of a phone call conversation between Kanye and Taylor. The phone conversation sounded as if though Taylor is agreeing that the lyric for “Famous” that mentions her would be good. This is very sketchy considering Kim just decides to randomly record the conversation between them. This sounds more like a plea for attention being made by Kim and Kanye. They also don’t show the full conversation, making wonder if important parts of the conversation were cut out to incriminate Taylor. This video resulted in Taylor being called a ‘snake’ by many people as if though it was all her fault.

I also think that Taylor is in the wrong, but not completely. She should have never encouraged the lyrics that made her look bad. She also shouldn’t have referenced Kanye during her speech. She should have known that it would result in Kanye’s retaliation. She instigated a more difficult situation between the two of them.

It is very easy to see that the person at fault is Kanye. He had started this whole feud as well as instigating it. Hopefully this dilemma will end with Kanye getting what he deserves. Taylor doesn’t deserve their cruelty.
