Horror, thriller, drama, suspense and sci-fi, this show has it all. The web television series “Stranger Things” created by The Duffer Brothers debuted on Netflix July 15, 2016. The Netflix original series has received five stars and may be suitable for children 14 years and older. The new show consists of eight episodes, each episode is approximately 42 to 55 minutes and with only one season out. It has a 80’s feel, Stranger Things continues to recruit new people to experience a new adventure. It’s a mixture of E.T., X-files, JJ Abrams’ Super 8 and all other Sci-fi movies or series, it is definitely a unique show.

Set in Hawkins, Indiana, Stranger Things focuses on the close friendship of four pre-teens Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin). After a game of Dungeons and Dragons Will disappears leaving his friends Mike, Dustin, and Lucas in a state of confusion. The boys set out on a mission to find where he went along with his mother Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and other town members. As they go on this adventure they come across a young lady by the name “Eleven” (Millie Bobby Brown) whom has psychokinesis or more commonly know as telekinesis, the ability to move objects mentally. They believe in a conspiracy that involves Eleven and something even more sinister in the woods of the small town.

As a viewer of this show, it is full of suspense, something that will rise your anxiety and keep you on the edge of your seat. Once I began to watch Stranger Things, after the first few minutes I fell in love. They give the show an old feeling by having the characters dress in the 80’s era, the music and other smaller details also incorporate the feeling of the 80’s. Overall the show is not cliche, it is unexpected and has many plot twists that will blow your mind. The adventure still continues, look out for season two coming out 2017.
