It has been eight years since the last Kung Fu Panda movie was released, and we are due for another one. There has been a lot of hype for what this movie will give us, and it is sure to perform very well given the good reviews from the past movies. That said, let’s take a closer look at what could potentially be a masterpiece of a movie: Kung Fu Panda 4.
The official trailer for the movie was released on December 13, 2023. This trailer starts off by showing us Po having a battle with a stingray on what seems to be a bridge. The trailer shows us the new main villain of the movie being a shape-shifting Chameleon. One big thing this trailer gives us is the return of the main villain of the first movie, Tai Lung. Po teams up with a thieving fox named Zhen who will help him defeat the all bad Chameleon. This is what we know from the trailer.
Speaking of the movie release, the movie came out on March 8, 2024. The movie will also be released exclusively in theaters only for the time being. It will later be available on streaming services, such as Peacock and Netflix for those who were unable to watch it in the theaters. The movie will have a runtime of about 94 minutes or 1 hour and 34 minutes.
Kung Fu Panda 4 might be a good addition to the franchise, since we haven’t gotten a movie in eight years. Also the return of Tai Lung from the first movie was an unexpected twist that will make the movie even better to watch. The comedy in the trailer is also a good part of it, and I hope we will see more of it in the movie. There isn’t really anything that I dislike about the trailer and I am sure the same thing will go for the movie itself.
Out of the past three movies plus the new trailer, I would have to say that my favorite movie has to be the second one, seeing Po finding his origins and trying to find out what happened to the rest of the pandas and what happened to his parents. It definitely has to be the best movie in the franchise no doubt about that.
Overall, judging by what the movie trailer shows us, the movie could be the best one we get in the entire franchise. It looks to have humor and action like the rest of the franchise sticking to the point of the film series. It is meant to be a fun family-friendly film meant for all age groups. We all hope the film can meet our expectations, but hope to see the film whether it be in theaters or on streaming services.
