Fans are going crazy about a new film called Wicked, which stars actress Cynthia Erivo and pop singer and actress Ariana Grande, and is scheduled for release on November 27, 2024. In the movie Ariana Grande plays Glinda “the Good Witch” while Cynthia Ervio plays Elphaba “the Wicked Witch of the West.” This movie focuses on the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda, both witches in the magical land of Oz, how Elphaba got the title “Wicked Witch of the West,” and how there are always two sides to every story. The musical fantasy is directed by Jon M. Chu who is best known as the director of the series Crazy Rich Asians and is written by Winnie Holzman, best known for creating the TV show My So-Called Life. The movie is rated PG-13 and will be available to see in theaters, on Amazon Prime, and Google Play.
Universal Studios originally announced that it was in the works during 2012 but it ended up getting delayed due to Covid-19 and many other issues. But now the movie is ready and set to be put out, and they have even talked about a sequel called Wicked: Part Two being put out next year.
Fans are very excited to see pop star Ariana Grande back into acting after not being in a film since 2021, when she played Riley Bina in the movie Don’t Look Up. But this will be Grande’s first lead role in a while.
I am very excited to watch this movie as I am a lover of the Wizard of Oz movies. I have seen many films with Cynthia Ervio in them and I loved every role she played. She is an amazing and talented actress and to see her play this role makes me so excited. I am also very excited to see Ariana Grande play in this movie because I feel she is the perfect fit for the role and she has a very beautiful voice that I believe will sound great in the movie. Grande has a lot going on with her new song that just recently dropped called “yes, and?” along with an album dropping March 8, 2024. I am very excited for all her upcoming projects and I think the Wicked movie will turn out fantastic.
