Whether you’ve heard about it in the morning announcements or from a member, Medical Club is a club that helps students who want to go into the medical field get a headstart on what they are to expect on the force.
“You learn not only about yourself but also about others and helping them through a medical profession. What we learn in medical club can come in handy in the future,” said senior Treasurer Yisel Maya.
Starting its first year the club had plenty of students rushing in to join and be a part of some- thing that will help begin the pathway of their future. Although some may not know what careers are perfect for them or what it takes to do their future job, they came in to learn.
“I’m in Medical club because I know what I want to do as a career which is become a registered nurse. It is an actual club that helps you not like others where you just show up. Everyone does something, you are actually involved not only the officers and it
is also very welcoming. If you’re interested in the medical field join, if you know nothing it’s a way to learn,” said senior Alanis Ortega.
The club is planning on offering its members opportunities in internships at hospitals and field trips to the universities with the best medical as well as becoming CPR certified. The club has many members that are very enthusiastic to learn more about their future careers and about other careers they may be interested in that are also in that field.
There’s opportunities you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Its specific for your career pathway. I would say for those who want to go into the Medical field it will allow them to learn more than they already know or don’t know.” said Vice President Jackie Gomez.
It doesn’t matter what you are focusing on in your future, you may want to become a forensic science technician or a lawyer, this club is for anyone who may just want to join just to join. You don’t have to be interested in the medical field at all, it’s a club that will take anyone willing to learn.
“It’s just interesting to know more than just what you are focused on. I want to learn more about the professions and want my second major to be a pediatrician if my first major doesn’t work out. You have more options to consider and always have a backup plan, this could be one.” said Maya.
Ultimately, these students in medical club are very well organized and determined in accomplishing their goals. If you’d like to join meetings are every Tuesday in room B303.
