2016 Rancho Talent Show

The sixth annual talent show was filled with a range of singing, dancing, and even a surprise storytelling. The hosts of the evening were our ASB Vice President, Shanyn Chapman, and President, Justin Martinez.

Entering the talent show students were able to vote for their favorite stockings since it had a Christmas theme. As the audience sat down waiting for the show to begin, they could admire the lights against the wall on the edges of the stage and the curtains had lit up RDPS letters. When the curtains were finally opened the stage had a decorated Christmas tree and piano and presents on stage with lights. The show then began with Matthew Hill singing “This Christmas” by Chris Brown.

“I felt amazing performing in the talent show. I was a little nervous because it was my first time singing in front of people in a while, but once I started it was a breeze,” said senior Matthew Hill.

The show continued on with the program and we got to see the talent of various students who did an amazing job.

“I think the talent show went well. It definitely went faster than last year, but everyone there was amazingly good in what they performed. The ones that have been in the talent show before have also improved a lot,” said senior Elijah Dowd.

The intermission was cut short to five minutes instead of ten because of a lockdown due to something happening outside the school. During the intermission Mr. Blazer, Math and Leadership teacher, told a story of “A Mexican Night Before Christmas” to pass the time. Once the intermission was done, there was a special performance from our very own Vice President and President. They lip synced and danced to “One Dance” by Drake.

“I think the talent show was a success and showcased Rancho’s talent,” said senior Keyani Haynes. For those who missed the annual talent show this year there is always the opportunity of seeing one next year.
