A favored Disney cartoon has been announced to have a reappearance; the very popular muppets will be showing up in our televisions in the next two years. The series, which will be CG Animated, is slated to air in 2018 on Disney Junior. The new show will be geared toward children ages 4-7.

Like many other shows that have appeared this year, the “Muppet Babies” will be a sequel to the original show. Although, from the looks of pictures that have been released there are many differences in the character’s appearances. Although the background and the characters seemed to not have changed.

The original series “Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies” ran for seven seasons from 1984-91 on CBS. The show followed Kermit the Frog, Miss. Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and their pint-sized Muppet pals as they went on imaginary adventures within the walls of their playroom. Disney finally got the rights to the Muppets in 2004. They became an iconic figure within cartoons as many adults and teenagers grew up with them.

Bringing “Muppet Babies” to Disney Junior is a wonderful opportunity to reach a new generation of viewers and to creatively build on the innovative original series.

“We hope to engage and delight the nostalgic fans while also entertaining new kids, parents, and diverse audiences through heart and humor as only the Muppets can deliver,” said Debbie McCellen, vice president of the Muppets studio.

Although what many people are concerned about is the success of the show. Many shows like it’s kind such as “Teen Titans GO” and the “Powerpuff Girls” have been somewhat disappointing. The show can be an utter failure if many young viewers are not in tune with classic old days that many of us are used to.
