Although the rock genre has somewhat faded over the last several decades, the band Green Day, has managed to remain a household name. Forming in 1986, Green Day took a while to have an independent label or to get known at all. Finally in 1994, they debuted their first album under the name of “Dookie,” which became a breakout success with over 10 million sold copies. From then on, the band has grown to be one of the most successful in history with over 75 million records sold worldwide, as well as making countless appearances on lists labeling them as one of the top 100 artists of all time. The last and most prestigious achievement they have was being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

For a while, Green Day seemed somewhat absent, with their last release being in 2012. Even though their legendary reputation was already solidified, they decided in 2015 that they were going to release yet another album.

Their twelfth studio album will be going with the title of “Revolution Radio,” and it has been set to be released on October 7, 2016. With already two singles being revealed and the release closing in, the excitement is only growing.

The two new singles, going by the names of “Bang Bang” and “Still Breathing”, already show similarities to their older projects, not only through sound, but the meanings as well. Known for tackling political issues and getting personal with their fans-through their lyrics- Green Day is going to make a statement with their new album.
