Horchateria Rio Luna has been raving with great reviews all over social media. The cute cafe has an upbeat modern Hispanic feeling. The menu varies from drinks to yummy pastries.

They even have a classic Mexican game called loteria. They sell t-shirts and car fresheners as well.

The only downside was the huge line awaiting me when I arrived. It was out the door and took me about 45 minutes to get to the front of the line. There was only one cashier to accommodate all their guests. Horchateria I strongly suggest you invest in another cash register.

The food was very satisfying. The menu was diverse; they had several different options of churros and a fried dough pastry to choose from. You can have it plain, with a topping drizzle, or in a sundae topped with horchata ice cream. It comes with four big churros ranging from $5-8 dollars. This dessert can easily be shared between two people.

The Mexican aesthetic was interesting to look at and included a lot of Frida Kahlo drawings on the walls. There were also a lot of catchphrases in both Spanish and English such as “viva los churros” and “all you need is coffee.”

I give Horchateria Rio Luna a 5/5 and would definitely go back, maybe earlier in the day or when there aren’t as many people but the food is good and not so pricey. Try it out for yourself Horchateria Rio Luna is located at 15729 Downey Ave, Paramount, CA 90723.
